Description
QuizyPilot builds product-recommendation quizzes that ask shoppers a few questions and send them to the products that actually fit. This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to your QuizyPilot account and gives you a shortcode for each quiz.
You build and design quizzes in the QuizyPilot dashboard, where there is room for the editor, the product mapping and the analytics. The plugin does the part that has to live on your site: the connection, and putting a quiz on a page.
What it does
- Connects your store so QuizyPilot can read your product catalog
- Lists your quizzes with a ready-to-paste shortcode for each one
- Renders a quiz anywhere shortcodes work — pages, posts, the block editor, most page builders
What you need
- A QuizyPilot account (you can create one during the connection)
- WooCommerce, active
- HTTPS on wp-admin — the connection step sends a one-time code back to your site and will not send it over plain HTTP
Usage
Paste the shortcode from the settings screen:
[quizypilot embed="YOUR_EMBED_ID"]
Reserve a different amount of vertical space while the quiz loads:
[quizypilot embed="YOUR_EMBED_ID" height="600"]
The quiz resizes itself to its real content once it loads, so height only affects the placeholder.
External services
This plugin connects to QuizyPilot (https://quizypilot.com), which is required for it to work.
What is sent and when
- When you click Connect: your store URL and the address of this settings screen, so QuizyPilot can start the WooCommerce authorization and send you back afterwards.
- When you complete the connection: the one-time code from the return URL, exchanged for a site access token.
- When the settings screen loads: the site access token, to fetch your quizzes, your plan usage and your quizzes’ statistics for the last 30 days. The plugin version is sent with every request.
- When you deactivate the plugin: the site access token, to disconnect the store.
- When you click Open dashboard and sign-in from WordPress is enabled: the site access token, to request a single-use 60-second link that signs you in.
When a page containing the shortcode is viewed, the visitor’s browser loads the quiz loader script (https://app.quizypilot.com/embed.js) and the quiz itself from QuizyPilot. While the visitor takes the quiz, QuizyPilot receives their answers, any details they choose to enter (such as name or email), the page address and referrer, and any UTM campaign parameters in that address. Nothing is sent until the page with the quiz is viewed.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin.
- Go to WooCommerce QuizyPilot.
- Click Connect to QuizyPilot. You will approve API access on your own site, then land back here.
- Copy the shortcode next to any quiz and paste it into a page.
FAQ
-
Where do I get the embed id?
-
You do not need to look it up. The settings screen lists every quiz with its full shortcode and a Copy button.
-
A quiz shows “No embed yet”. What does that mean?
-
A quiz and an embed are separate things in QuizyPilot — one quiz can be embedded in several places with different settings. Create an embed for that quiz in the dashboard and it will appear here.
-
What does the plugin store on my site?
-
One access token for your store, plus the store URL, the connection date, and a five-minute cache of your quiz list. Deactivating the plugin revokes the token and disconnects the store; deleting the plugin removes everything it stored.
-
Does the plugin send my customer data to QuizyPilot?
-
The plugin itself sends nothing but the requests described above. QuizyPilot reads your product catalog through the WooCommerce API keys you approve during the connection, and collects quiz answers from shoppers who take a quiz. See the QuizyPilot privacy policy for what happens to that data.
-
Will my embedded quizzes break if I deactivate WooCommerce?
-
No. Rendering a quiz needs nothing from WooCommerce. Only connecting the store does, because the API keys come from WooCommerce’s own authorization endpoint.
