It uses the same detection service as ZeroGPT's online
AI Detector.

How it works

Open a post or page and click "Check for AI content". You get an AI-likelihood score (shown as a donut
chart) and when the content was last checked.

Edited the draft? Click "Recheck". Nothing runs automatically unless you turn on automatic checking.

Settings → ZeroGPT AI Content Detector is the one place to connect your ZeroGPT account, see your
usage, and adjust preferences.

Your API key or account connection token is stored encrypted in your WordPress database and used only
on your server. It is never sent to the browser, the editor's JavaScript, or any REST response.

See how much of your ZeroGPT allowance you have used and how much is left, on the settings screen.

Works with

The block editor (Gutenberg) — a panel in the editor sidebar.

The Classic Editor — a box in the right-hand column.

Elementor — a floating panel in the Elementor editor.

What it does not do

It never modifies, rewrites, or highlights your content. Nothing is written into your post content,
and saving, autosave and publishing work exactly as before. Every publishing decision stays yours.

It never retries a failed check automatically. If a check fails (rate limit, quota, timeout or a
temporary outage), you decide when to try again.

It never scans content on save or publish, and it never adds anything to your public site. Automatic
checking, if you turn it on, only runs in the editor while a post is open.

A note on accuracy and SEO: no AI-detection service can guarantee perfect accuracy on every text, and
this plugin does not claim otherwise. Content that reads as AI-generated is not automatically against
search engine guidelines — treat the score as an editorial signal, not an SEO requirement.

External services

This plugin requires either a ZeroGPT Developer API key, or a connected ZeroGPT account, to function.
When you (or, if you enable it, automatic checking) request a check, this plugin sends the plain text
of the content currently open in the editor to ZeroGPT, over HTTPS, from your server (never directly
from the visitor's or editor's browser). This happens only when a check is explicitly requested by an
editor, or when automatic checking is enabled and the content meets the built-in length threshold —
never on every keystroke, and never in the background outside the editor.

If this site is connected to a ZeroGPT account (rather than a Developer API key), content you check is
sent under that account and counts against that account's own detection allowance, and ZeroGPT can
associate these checks with the connected account. The account's email address is never stored on this
site in full — only a masked form, for display. No content is transmitted during the connection process
itself; connecting only exchanges an authorization code for a token, never post data.

This data is sent:
* What: the plain text of the post/page content currently being edited (normalized; no images,
 files, or unrelated site data).
* When: when an editor clicks "Check for AI content" / "Recheck", or when automatic checking is
 enabled and content is edited.
* Why: this is required to produce an AI-likelihood score — there is no local/offline way to
perform this analysis, and the plugin does not claim otherwise.

No other WordPress data (site settings, other users' content, visitor data, etc.) is ever sent to
ZeroGPT by this plugin.

ZeroGPT's own policies:
* Terms of Service: https://zerogpt.org/terms
* Privacy Policy: https://zerogpt.org/privacy

Privacy

See "External services" above for exactly what is transmitted, when, and why. This plugin also adds a
paragraph to Settings → Privacy → Privacy Policy Guide describing this so you can include it in your
own site's published privacy policy. Only enable automatic checking, or run manual checks, on content
you are authorized to share externally for this purpose.

In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, search for "ZeroGPT AI Content Detector", then install and
activate it. Connect in one of two ways:

Sign in with your ZeroGPT account (recommended) — approve the connection on zerogpt.org. There
is no key to create or paste. Your account
needs Developer API access enabled.

Open any post or page.
