## Description

Delayed scheduled actions, a late queue runner, or an unexpected checkout-page assignment
can be hard to interpret. StoreClarity gives WooCommerce store managers and site
maintainers a manual view of these local signals, with an explanation and a next
step for each finding.

#### What Free checks

Open WooCommerce > Store health and select Run store scan. The Free plugin checks:

 * Action Scheduler: bounded observations of overdue, failed and pending tasks.
A task may belong to WooCommerce or another plugin; counts are lower bounds when
   the query cap is reached.
 * WP-Cron: whether a late scheduled runner coincides with overdue tasks. Disabling
page-load cron alone is informational, because a host may use an external scheduler.
 * Store pages: assigned cart, checkout and account pages, published status, standard
WooCommerce shortcodes or blocks, and the configured checkout URL’s HTTPS scheme.
 * WooCommerce database update: WooCommerce’s own indicator that an update is pending.

Results include observation, significance, confidence, suggested checks and a copyable
private diagnostic report. The scan is started by a shop manager; it does not run
when a customer loads a page. A failed or unavailable check is shown as incomplete
coverage instead of a clean result. Free keeps the latest completed scan locally.

#### Scope and privacy

These are configuration and task observations, not a test purchase or a payment-
gateway check. The plugin does not guarantee that customers can complete checkout,
monitor an offline site, or repair issues. A warning calls for investigation; custom
checkout builders may require manual verification.

The Free package does not change orders, payments, products, store settings or other
plugins’ scheduled actions. It makes no external requests and includes no tracking,
licensing SDK, remote assets or AI service. Reports contain versions, timestamps,
check status and aggregate findings, not customer details, task arguments, raw logs,
site URL or credentials. Nothing is sent automatically; review a report before sharing
it.

#### Optional Pro addon

The separate [StoreClarity Pro addon](https://checkout.freemius.com/plugin/39680/plan/68188/)
adds opt-in daily local scans, up to 30 days of local history, change detection,
repeated background-task patterns and conservative failed-order status trends. It
requires Free and a Pro license. Daily scans depend on the site’s scheduler; Pro
is not an external uptime monitor or a payment test. Pro licensing and updates use
Freemius; the Free package remains independent. The checkout shows current pricing
and terms. Free manual diagnostics are complete without Pro.

StoreClarity is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by WooCommerce
or Automattic. Support covers this diagnostic plugin, not hosting administration,
third-party repair, gateway setup, custom development or malware removal. Multisite
is not supported in this initial version.

## Installation

 1. Confirm WordPress 7.0 or later, PHP 8.2 or later and WooCommerce 11.0 or later
    are installed.
 2. Install and activate StoreClarity from Plugins > Add New.
 3. As a shop manager or administrator, open WooCommerce > Store health and select
Run store scan. If the server pauses a scan, use Continue scan.
 4. Review each finding’s explanation, evidence and suggested checks. Copy the private
report only if you choose to share it. Nothing is automatically repaired.

## FAQ

### What can I check with Free?

Overdue, failed and pending Action Scheduler tasks; evidence of a late runner; assigned
cart, checkout and account pages; the configured checkout URL’s HTTPS scheme; and
WooCommerce’s database-update indicator. Free includes explanations and a copyable
report.

### Where do I start the first scan?

After activation, open WooCommerce > Store health and select Run store scan. The
scan is manual and requires the WooCommerce management capability. No scan starts
just because you open the page.

### Does it change orders, payments or store settings?

No. Free writes only its own local diagnostic results and temporary progress. It
does not repair store problems or change other plugins’ scheduled actions.

### Does it test whether a customer can pay?

No. It checks the assigned checkout page and the configured URL scheme, but does
not place an order, process a payment, probe a gateway or prove checkout availability.
Test the customer journey on a staging site if you need that assurance.

### Does it send store data anywhere?

No. The Free package has no external service or telemetry. Copying and sharing a
diagnostic report is a deliberate user action. The separately installed Pro addon
uses Freemius for licensing and updates.

### Why do I see failed background tasks?

Tasks may belong to any plugin using Action Scheduler. Read the hook and group in
WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions to investigate. An isolated failure is
informational.

### Why does cron matter?

Cron can start background work. Disabling page-load cron is normal when system cron
is configured; the setting alone is never a warning. External cron execution is
not verified.

### Why did a scan stop?

Reload the page and resume it. If the scan has expired after 15 minutes, start again.
A busy server, blocked admin AJAX request or third-party error can pause scanning.
With JavaScript disabled, each click checks one area. The previous completed report
remains available.

### Does it support HPOS and block checkout?

The plugin declares HPOS compatibility and never queries order posts or post meta.
Both classic and block checkout content are recognized. Content supplied through
a custom template or reusable block can be marked informational for manual review.

### Why are task counts shown as at least?

Queries use fixed caps to protect shared hosting. The report includes whether a
cap was reached. No whole queue is loaded.

### How do I copy a report?

Choose Copy diagnostic report. If the browser blocks clipboard access, select and
copy the text manually. No report is uploaded automatically.

### What happens on deactivation or uninstall?

Deactivation removes unfinished work and retains the latest report. Deleting the
plugin removes its three local diagnostic options. Orders and other plugins’ tasks
are not deleted.

### What does Pro add, and is it required?

Pro is optional. Free includes complete manual results and keeps the latest scan.
The separate addon adds opt-in daily local scans, up to 30 days of history, change
detection, repeated task patterns and failed-order status trends. Those trends are
not a payment test. See the [Pro checkout](https://checkout.freemius.com/plugin/39680/plan/68188/)
for current prices and terms. This Free package contains no locked features or paid
code.
